I’m Rob; a trumpet player, musical director, educator, and arranger living in London. I’ve worked as a freelance trumpet player since 2013 – I’ve toured extensively, played heaps of fun gigs, loads of festivals, recoded lots of notes, moved my arms lots (… in a musical way…) and helped some lovely people along on their journeys in music.

Some of these fun things include:

Coronation of King Charles III | Wembley Stadium | BBC Radio 3 | Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games | Handover of the 2018 Goldcoast Commonweath Games | Funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Lords Cricket Ground | Played for Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath | West Side Story (Birmingham Hippodrome)… and loads of others.

Festivals wise they’re all a bit blurry, but to name some of them:

Glastonbury | WOMAD | Boomtown | Greenman | Kendal Calling | Shambala | Nozstock | Moseley Folk Festival | Underneath the Stars | Leopalooza | Lindisfarne | Rock Oyster | Swingamajig | Purbeck Folk Festival | Shrewsbury Folk Festival | Towersey Festival | Gate to Southwell | Ramsbottom Festival | Godiva | Eindhoven Festival | Blue Lagoon | Timberfest | BalterFest | How the Light Gets In | Sunrise | Hackfest | Valleyfest | Doune the Rabbit Hole | Secret Garden Part… and loads of others.

I was Head of Brass at Repton School, and at my nine years at Repton Preparatory School enjoyed a variety of roles in and out of the classroom as both a brass peri, and Teacher of Music and Music Technology. I currently teach at Warwick School.

I’ve been musical director of several wonderful community groups, and currently work with Thame Concert Band weekly; they’ve a lovely bunch.

The general idea of this website is as a repository for bits of playing so when someone asks ‘oh have you got any clips’, I’m not flounding around wondering how I’ve done all this stuff without filming any of it.

Give me a nudge if you’d like any further information, or a chat.
